Infant Consultation
Newborn to age 4
Although Liz loves seeing infants and young children, she is currently referring all patients from newborn to age 4 to a specialized infant chiropractor, Dr. Andrea, at The Health Practice for full-body, hands-on assessment and treatment.

For young children with speech delays or speech concerns, Liz recommends they have a consultation with Lesley Larive, M.S., CCC-SLP, at Myo Omaha.
Comprehensive Assessment
For age 5+
This initial visit will consist of photos of the mouth, face, and posture; evaluation of oral and facial growth patterns; functional assessments of the tongue, lips, cheeks, and accessory muscles; swallowing patterns; speech; and more.

*Although speech and swallowing are assessed, myofunctional therapy is practiced apart from speech therapy and/or swallowing/feeding therapy. Referrals to appropriate providers will
be recommended based on individual needs.

Myofunctional Therapy
Recommended as needed after a comprehensive assessment is completed.
Exercises and stretches will be discussed in-depth with demonstrations to address any muscular dysfunctions of the tongue, lips, cheeks, and accessory muscles.
Habits impacting sleep, growth and development, and systemic health will also be addressed, such as snoring, thumb sucking, and mouth breathing.
The length of treatment and goals of the therapy program are individualized to each patient's needs.
Tethered Oral Tissue Release
Surgical release(s) of tethered oral tissues, such as tongue and/or lip ties, are recommended based on individual need.
For an ideal outcome, myofunctional therapy should be completed both before and after a release procedure.
